Entertaiment is a cultural activity that provides pleasure, amusement, or distraction. The activities may be recreational in nature or have a ceremonial, festive, or religious significance. Entertainment can take the form of art or of a variety of activities that are enjoyable for different audiences and cultures. For example, sports that were once part of hunting or war have developed into spectator sports, while some forms of cooking have become global competitions. What appears as entertainment for one audience may be considered work or an act of cruelty by another, and what seems like entertainment to a generation can seem outdated or even obsolete to the next.
